01What is Scash?
Satoshi Cash Network (Scash) is an experimental peer-to-peer electronic cash network based on the Bitcoin protocol. It combines Bitcoin Core with RandomX proof-of-work so ordinary computers can participate in mining.
The project focuses on direct value transfer, open participation, and a network secured without trusted financial intermediaries.
02How can I mine Scash?
Run and synchronize the Scash node, create a wallet address, then connect cpuminer-scash to your node for solo mining or to a compatible Stratum V1 pool.
The miner supports Linux, Windows, macOS, x86-64, and ARM64. Consult the repository instructions before enabling large pages or changing thread and affinity settings.
03Is Scash open source?
Yes. The node, CPU miner, protocol specification, and supporting projects are publicly inspectable on GitHub. Contributors can review the implementation, report issues, test releases, and propose improvements.
04What are the monetary rules?
Scash follows Bitcoin’s core emission model: a maximum supply of 21 million coins and a block-subsidy halving approximately every four years. The network is 100% proof-of-work, with no premine, developer tax, venture allocation, or protocol-level treasury.
05How is Scash different from Bitcoin?
Scash replaces SHA-256 mining with RandomX 1.2.1, extends the block header with a RandomX commitment, uses Scash-specific network identifiers and addresses, disables replace-by-fee by default, and discourages non-payment data storage.
It otherwise stays close to Bitcoin Core so familiar wallet, transaction, scripting, and development knowledge remains useful.
06Does Scash use ASERT difficulty adjustment?
No. Scash retains Bitcoin-style difficulty adjustment every 2,016 blocks, targeting ten-minute blocks and limiting adjustment changes by a factor of four. Its protocol corrects Bitcoin’s historical off-by-one calculation so the period covers all 2,016 blocks.
07Which wallets can I use?
The Scash node includes a Bitcoin Core-style graphical and command-line wallet. It supports wallet creation, addresses, payments, encryption, descriptor wallets, and wallet backups.
Self-custody carries real responsibility: encrypt wallets, keep tested offline backups, and never share private keys or seed material.
08Where can I view transactions and network activity?
Use either of the independent Scash block explorers. Explorers are third-party views of public blockchain data and should not be treated as substitutes for validation by your own node.
09Where is SCASH traded?
CoinGecko tracks current SCASH markets and exchange information. Listings, prices, liquidity, and availability can change, so verify the current market and conduct your own research before using any exchange.
10How does Scash approach network security?
Scash nodes independently verify blocks and transactions under consensus rules derived from Bitcoin Core. RandomX aims to keep mining accessible to general-purpose processors, helping a wider set of participants compete to secure the network.
As with every proof-of-work network, security depends on distributed hash power, reliable node operation, careful software review, and responsible wallet practices.
